There are times when things don’t work out the way we want: the friends we were counting on aren’t there, the medical report doesn’t come back good, the dream isn’t happening on our timetable. We could be frustrated, discouraged. We did the right thing, we stayed in faith, but it hasn’t worked out. You have to tell the disappointment, tell the frustration, tell the delay, “Sleep on. You’re not going to bother me anymore. I know God is on the throne. I know He’s fighting my battles and He’ll get me to where I’m supposed to be.

If you’re always feeding your history you’re going to be frustrated, discouraged, guilty, bitter. Do yourself a favor. Tell your history, “Sleep on.” You can’t go forward if you’re always looking back. You can’t see the new things God has in store if you’re focused on what’s behind. Start feeding your destiny.
God didn’t breathe His life into you and crown you with favor so you could go around anchored to doubt or anchored to fear. He created you to be anchored to hope!
This morning, I want to remind you that God didn’t breathe His life into you to drag through the day. He didn’t create you in His image, crown you with His favor, or equip you with His power to just go through the motions of life. You may have had some setbacks, the wind may have been taken out of your sail, but this is a new day. And in this new day, empty your hands of yesterdays sorrows and dissappointments. Lay them at the feet of Christ and start anew. Oh what a gift you were given today, the gift of life. Live in Jesus name. Amen!
