Paul said in Colossians, “Whatever you do, do it unto God and not people.” Sometimes there are things we don’t feel like doing. It doesn’t seem fair. At work, you’re not getting credit, someone is not treating you right. Why should you be kind to them, why should you keep a good attitude, why should you go the extra mile? God is saying, “Will you do it unto Me? Will you keep your mouth closed for Me, will you be kind to that person that doesn’t deserve it for Me, will you be your best at work for Me?” Do it unto God. He’s the one that matters. Promotion doesn’t come from people; it comes from Him. When you do the right thing when it’s hard, you’re passing the test. Like with David, you’re going to go to levels that you’ve never imagined.
There are forces that don’t want you to take new ground. When the enemy sees you start to make progress, he’ll send the storm, the waves, the winds. But that’s when God will step up and say, “Peace be still.” The storm can’t stop our God; He controls the winds. What’s come against you is not a sign that you’re stuck; it’s a sign that promotion is coming. The storm is a sign that God is close to the shore. You’re about to see things change in your favor.
